"Donations from the Heart"

La Sirena's strong commitment to high quality partners with a sincere pledge to aid in the development of the communities we serve. La Sirena understands the importance of giving back to the people who support our company. We are dedicated to showing our gratitude to the Latino population by contributing to important social development projects and through fundraising. Below is information on some of the ways we have contributed throughout the years:

In July 2005, La Sirena joined with Hiper Paiz supermarkets and non-profit organization, Potter's House (Casa Alfarero), to raise money for the purchase of materials to protect the houses of 10,000 Guatemalans living in the unstable landfill of Guatemala City.
Throughout the years, La Sirena has continued its involvement with Potter’s House (Casa Alfarero). Most Recently, La Sirena became the proud sponsor of a first grade classroom. Our sponsorship includes the donation of school uniforms, school materials and nutritious meals throughout the school year. For more information please visit www.pottershouse.org.gt

When Hurricane Stan struck the Guatemala and the Central American region in October 2005, it brought severe flooding and landslides to the area. Those affected by the disaster were in urgent need of food, water and shelter.  La Sirena responded immediately with a large donation of canned goods to the shelters in both Guatemala and El Salvador. In response, the Guatemalan government recognized la Sirena for its generous donation and help for those in need.

In 2006, La Sirena partnered with the Guatemalan organization Manos de Amor to raise money for the construction of medical stations, medical supplies and community health programs in areas of Guatemala with restricted access to medical attention. Specifically La Sirena donated a container with medical equipment as well as a medical team to the Hospital in Santiago Atitlan.

In 2006 La Sirena also became involved with FotoKids (Fundación de niños artistas Guatemala) in Guatemala. Fotokids aims to teach kids in poorer areas of Guatemala skills in manual and digital photography, giving them the chance to develop themselves artistically.
